What should I do immediately when someone passes away in Uganda?

First, obtain a death certificate from the medical facility or a government doctor. Then contact Oasis Funeral Service immediately. We will guide you through every step — from body collection and preservation to arranging the service, burial, and grave construction. The sooner you call, the more we can handle on your behalf during this difficult time.

How much does a funeral cost in Uganda?

Funeral costs vary based on the services selected. Our Professional Services Package starts at UGX 1,500,000 and includes pall bearers, casket trolley, coffin tent, wreath, condolence book, radio announcements, and more. Caskets range from UGX 800,000 to UGX 6,000,000. Grave construction starts at UGX 1,300,000. Contact us for a detailed quote tailored to your needs.

How do you transport a body within Uganda?

We provide professional burial transport services using our specially equipped vehicles. Transport costs are computed based on distance covered. We serve the greater Kampala area including Mulago, Mityana, and surrounding regions. Contact us for a route-specific quote.

What's the difference between embalming and body preservation?

Embalming is a chemical process that preserves the body by temporarily delaying decomposition, often needed for viewings or extended periods before burial. Body preservation refers to general storage and preparation methods. The cost for embalming (body treatment) is UGX 200,000, and storage is UGX 100,000 per night. Our team will advise on what is needed based on your specific circumstances.

Do you assist with death certificates and burial permits?

Yes, we assist families with processing death certificates and obtaining necessary burial permits. This is part of our commitment to providing complete, compassionate funeral assistance — so families can focus on grieving and honouring their loved one while we handle the paperwork.
